Tufts Boston REFS (Resources for Easing Friction and Stress) is a peer support program which trains PhD students from Tufts University School of Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in conflict resolution, stress reduction, and mental health awareness.
The trained PhD students are referred to as REFS and are voluntary and private resources for their peers in the graduate student community. These meetings are confidential and REFS will maintain students’ privacy whenever possible, but REFS are mandatory reporters.
Although each REFS is affiliated with a program or department, any graduate student can contact any REFS regardless of their affiliation. REFS can also refer students to relevant resources on campus.
